just like you said

wooot. back from vacations. i actually think i'm all done with them for the summer. now i'm in my office- everyone's gone: mr. cross is always on business trips and such, jerry went to a wedding i think?, shelly's hubby just got back from a year in afganhisthang recently, and kathy's in boston. and i'm here, reading blogs and eating mandarin oranges. that's my lunch. and i'm eating it at 2.30. because i woke up at 11. because i stayed up till 5. because i couldn't sleep. because i'm in a new house, i slept half the day in the back of an rv, adam's leaving (lol again) for a fireworks convention (which sounds really sweet). anyway, i'm here at work eating mandarin oranges for lunch because that's the only food i have right now. i hate spending money on food. it seems so unnecessary. something i've always taken for granted i guess. but these oranges, man i have definitely not taken for granted. they have a little flip thing like how you open a coke, right? mine didn't open my little can, it broke off. it left a hole barely big enough to fit a small paperclip through. i eventually got the hole big enough to fit a larger paperclip through, and then one of those heavy duty x clip things. that worked pretty well actually. but still the hole is not big enough to fit my plastic spoon through, and i have cuts from the metal on my fingertips, and i really don't want to throw these oranges away because it's the only food i have right now. so the back of the spoon fits through, and i'm slurping my oranges through the ragged paperclip-gouged hole. and now it's raining. good thing i brought my graduation gift umbrella, because i have no car and i live 5 blocks away. i think i'll go see if barb needs anything. "back to reality"
